Now I have checked all the other Gillians on the whole GC site and I am one of 15 but the others do not have the same place nor date of birth!! This is spooky!! I think that I am going to delete myself from my own tree to get rid of the link!! Gillian

Have linked and I must have been the common rellie!! andI have now established a link between myself on my tree and this other person's tree. However, I cannot find myself on this other person's tree!! His tree is so vast and also the surnames bear no resemblance to any I know!! What do you think has gone wrong!!! Gillian

Usually you type in what relative you want to link with.

Hello there, I recently contacted someone re an ancestor. This person replied but we could not establish a direct link with the ancestor in question. I looked in my contact box and it is asking me to link my tree to his. When I click on this option, my name appears! Does this means that I am in fact the common relative or is this just a confirmation of the subscriber?? I have not linked trees before and according to FAQ, to remove the link you have to delete the relative!!! Obviously I want to know which rellie I'm linking before I go ahead!!!! Can anyone advise please?? Gillian
