Hi, I am starting up my family tree. I have been able to Unfortunately there are not many older family members left to give me any information so I have to go on my own memories, which does not take me back too far. As the census will not go past 1901 I am pretty stuck at the moment for finding family member after that point. I have a few names from relatives who were born around 1910-1926 (but no more info than names for them) but a big gap before that time. Any advice or help would be really appreciated. Thanks Jane

Hello Jane, Where are your McBeth's from? I have in my husband's family McBeath's from Blair Atholl in Perthshire Scotland. If you think we have a link no matter how small let me have it and I will see if it matches up with mine and if so I can maybe get you started. However it is not as easy as it sounds but we can have a go. Best Wishes Beryl Campbell .

Jane, Do you have any certificates for the older family members? If not, this would be a good place to start as it will give you parents' names (on birth certificates) and father's names (on marriage certificates).

Hi Beryl, thanks for your fast reply. This is where it gets confusing for me. My dads side..MACBETH's and McGLYNN's are from Scotland...I can only go back as far as 1926 at the moment and to Glasgow....My mums side are ANDREW's from London...back as far as 1908...and RODGERS from Co Down Ireland..and Annalong...back to 1900. I can send you details of the Macbeth's if you want Beryl? You never know :) If anyone else has any tips would be ever so gratful Thanks again Jane
