kat youve just made my day...lol i hadnt thought of that.ive got so far back with dads side and even branched off in several families but mums side,well,they are causing me headaches!!!the only date i know for certain is nans D.O.B so i'll have to order her cert i think. mum even had her dads birth year wrong ,so i was looking in the wrong places for months there as well,havent got any further with that family either anyway kat thanx for the info p.s.ive got a charles allen in my tree as well susie

Be aware that census ages are not always correct. One of my ancestors changed her DOB from 1867 to 1873! Also census brthplaces often changed and people used their middle names sometimes - so when you are searching the censuses where they are missing be wary of that. One of my ancestors name was Charles Bowden Allen - but he also used, Charles Allen, Bowden Allen, Bowden Charles Allen and even Allen Bowden! So try everything! Hope this helps! -Kat

ive found my nan and her sisters on freeBMD,but couldnt find their parents.they arent on LDS either.on looking on 1901 i found the family but they arent on 1891!!! next step was to search 1837,bingo.i found the parents births on there. im trying to find the marriage of my grt.g/parents and hopefully their parents.the following info is all ive got john hatton b 1868 st.george sq london louisa lyons b 1870 mile end london on the 1901 census it says john was born in deptford and louisa was born in lambeth. im so confused,could i have the wrong people?i got their D.O.B.by deducing their ages from 1901 census. has any one got any ideas please susie
