If anyone is looking for someone killed in WW1 or WWII, from Stanwick, Northamptonshire, please contact me, as a local resident has researched the lives and families of all of the men named on the War Memorial, with photographs and family stories where they are available. I don't know any names listed and wonder if anyone can offer suggestions as to where else to look for: Dennis Adams. According to family history (a friend not mine) he was killed at 11am on 11 November 1918 which should make him one of the last soldiers to die before the cease-fire. I have searched the CWGC under Adams - his stepfather's name - under Izzard - his mother's name (he was born out of wedlock) and there is no trace. The family lived in St.Albans and apparently there are several street memorials there but he is not on any of those either. Any suggestions welcome Ruth

I don't have any of the names in my tree, but thought I would just add some (useless?) information. The Rupert Brooke listed was a famous poet who wrote about The Vicarage at Granchester, among other poems. The Vicarage is now home to Mary Archer, wife of Jeffrey. Sue
