Need help with 1871 Census

Hi, There is no national index for the 1871 census so a look up requires a parish or, even better, a possible address. Very few counties are indexed for the 1871 census so the chances of someone doing a look up are slim. You have her name so you could search the GRO index for her birth and send for the certificate. This would give you the names of both parents, including her mother's maiden name. Or you could order a film of the census of the area you need at an LDS centre. However, census searches can take hours a GRO search would be much quicker. Hope this helps, Gwynne

Have the details of great-grandmother from 1881 and 1891 census. Would like to find her mother's name. Would the 1871 census be the place to look. I am looking for Mary Elizabeth Springett, born 1860. Fathers name was David Johnathan. Could someone do a look-up for me. Would be greatly appreciated.
