Helena, for wills proved in Birmingham Birmingham District Probate Registry The Priory Courts 33 Bull Street Birmingham B4 6DU Ph 0121 681 3400 Send all the details from the index and a cheque for £5. You will need to phone as I can't remember who to write the cheque out to. From what I remember they can also get wills from other areas as long as you give all the details, if not they will be able to tell you where to apply. Ros

Hi, It's only PCC wills on the PRO website other wills were proven in other parts of the country. Many of these have been indexed and the indexes can be found in the County record office. Post 1858 wills indexes can be found in record offices and larger libraries. Gwynne

Wills to 1850 are on film at the FRC. After that are at the PRO, Kew. For pre-1850 you can go to http://www(.)documentsonline(.)pro(.)gov(.)uk/default(.)asp you can find references free, and download the image for I think £3.00. Also try http://www(.)a2a(.)pro(.)gov(.)uk/search/index(.)asp for wills and other documents. Maz. XX
