If you have his parents names, couldnt you look them up on the 1901 census? Your HP would be listed with them and you could see what his name was? Just a thought! Regards Sally, Coventry

Thanks for the advice, time I got back to this it was on page 4! I have the war graves info but it only give H P Miller. How many H P Miller's do you think there are!!!!! less than H miller anyway. A very kind lady is going to Kew next week and will have a quick look for me. thanks all Sheila

If you can get his army number from the Comm. war graves comm. or similar that would make searching easier - all the war dead books contain name, regiment (or similar if not army) service number and the reference for ordering. You should be able to look for this on 1837 site. Maz. XX

Hi Sheila I have just found our H P Miller on the link below http://www.cwgc.org/cwgcinternet/search.aspx This is the commonwealth graves site which commemorates all those that died during WW1 and WW2. He is listed no. 52. Quite exciting because it lists parents names and you can even print out a commemorative certificate. probably not what you are looking for but it is something ... Debbie

I have a death cert for my great grandfather who died at the Somme. Just as a side note - he died on August 18th but his death wasn't registered until the december quarter when his wife recieved her telegram so you may need to search a lot more records on 1837 than you think Zoe

H.P Miller died aged 23 20.7.1918 and is remember with honour in a distant country. Now would there be a death cert issued? ie looking through 1837 for H Miller? don't know his first name so could work out very expensive!!! advise please regards Sheila
