If I go to one of the LDS Family Histroy Centres, what info will I find there? Will it just be the original documents of the info we find online or is there more??

Hi, The LDS have filmed a lot of parish records, the GRO index and all the censuses 1841 -1891. At an LDS centre you can order any of the films in their catalogue - which is on their familysearch website. There is far more available via the LDS than online. Gwynne

Andrea: My dad volunteered at the LDS church years ago. When he wasn't there to volunteer, he spent hours pouring over records and found my ancestors' marriage records -- which included their signatures and witnesses' signatures (providing people could write). There were also burial records, which I don't believe are available online. And of course, birth records, and in one case, notes had been scribbled on the side of the paper -- which hadn't been included anywhere else. I would highly recommend a visit, if you would like to see the originals.

I have just been to the LDS for the first time tonight and while I didn`t find what I was looking for tonight I am sure on future visits I will have more success. They were very friendly and showed me how to use their machines. One guy even did a search for me while I was looking else where I would definately recommend it. Now I know what they have I will order other films to look at Mary
