How do you add people to tree?

I know how to. I have my own family history programme and put new names into there. Is there an easier way of updating gc tree, without having to do everything twice.

if you saved the file in the same format you would be able to transfer the data.

I can easily save the data in gedcom. If I use the load gedcom link, will it just take the new and overwrite what is already there?
