Lisa Thanks Lisa. That is very helpful, I think I had better go and have a look at exactly what is available and what they contain. Thanks again. Sarah

In case anyone else is interested in Family Tree Maker: I have Family Tree Maker. Haven't used the features too much, but I am very happy with the software. I purchased the most expensive package (numerous Cd's) because it included a Canadian CD. I would, and I am shouting, NOT recommend anyone purchase the expensive version, as the CD's are not at all helpful. They include some information, but in order to obtain all of the information you have to purchase additional CDs. Had I known about the "hidden costs" I never would have purchased the "deluxe" edition. (Not to mention the Canadian CD did not include as many records as I thought it would.)

Sarah A single disc(without all the American discs) version 11 can be purchased from twr computing for £29.90, costs £50 with all the other discs. According to the site you can update any other version with this. George

Dear All I have upgraded mine a few years ago to version 6, at that time that was all the computer could take.I now have a fairly new computer but don't feel I have to upgrade on FTM.I was able to transfer all my info without any problems. It has the correction report. It can also make it data protected for living relatives if you decide to put info on to a web site. The charts will be like most that it will come off but you have to piece it together as the tree expands. I have had Family Tree Maker Version 3.0 for the last 8 years or so and have been really pleased with it. I have loads of information on it, but keep wondering if I can update it to whatever the latest version is. If I did update will all my information be transferred OK and also what is the cost these days. Also, of course, what do you all think - Is it worth updating. Thanks a lot. Sarah
