Russell Report 27 Oct 2003 17:54

I have just been searching the 1881 census on the LDS site, and I think I may have spotted a family member in HM Prison Borstal. Does anyone know of how to find out what crime was committed or the sentence served etc? Are there any records available to the public on such things? Cheers, Russell

Hi Russell, you could try the archives at the nearest record office to the prison.I enquired at Dorset R O last week, they hold some brillint ones (but not what I wanted),they suggested I try the national archives in London.Think they have what I want its just a case of getting there to search Good Luck Kathleen
