Where can you purchase a set of VRI CDs?

Can anyone tell me where you can buy the VRI CDs? I know one person told me she purchased hers via e-bay but that looks a fairly long-winded process negotiating a six day bid which may or may not be accepted! Is it possible to make a more speedy purchase? I'm off on holiday at the weekend, and having just discovered how useful the index is, would quite like to take a copy with me... Any ideas?

I really hope you find out because I want one too!! I've tried to find the UK distributor on the net to no avail. Someone said that you can get it from the LDS site but that would probably take longer than eBay. If you find out, would you be so kind and e-mail me the answer, just in case I miss the 'post'? Thanking you in anticipation!!! Aileen

Success! You can order over the phone from: The Distribution Centre The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 399 Garretts Green Lane Birmingham B33 0UH Telephone Sales: 08 700 10 20 51 Fax Sales Line: 08 700 10 20 52 Orders can be placed using credit card or cheque. If paying by cheque it should be made payable to "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints". Cost: £22.95 (I know it's potentially more expensive than e-bay, but it's quicker!) Should be with me by the end of the week.

Hi Ive had to buy 3 sets of VRI, for myself and on behalf of others. I brought 1 set from LDS and it took nearly 3 weeks to arrive. This set was the first edition. The other 2 were purchased from ebay. One was £32 they were bidding for 3 days and it took 2 days to arrive. The other set was £37 and arrived the next day. These sets were both 2nd edition. Ive been informed you can no longer buy the 2nd edition from LDS as its been withdrawn. So you can only buy it 2nd hand or if another website/company sells it. (please correct me if ive been informed wrong). I hope that helps.

As far as I know, the version I have ordered from LDS is new and I'm told it will be 'picked' tomorrow and sent by Parcel Force. They've marked it urgent and I've been told I can expect to receive it by the weekend. I spoke to a very helpful lady by phone and she certainly didn't say it was out of stock!!

Do I take it then that they're constantly bringing out newer editions of these CDs?

Linda & Tim

Linda & Tim Report 27 Oct 2003 21:08

Not sure about that, Andy. The version LDS are advertising is version 2, which is apparently the lastest, but I don't know how recent it actually is. A couple of people have mentioned a new version perhaps being imminent - but I don't know how imminent! I guess we'll have to watch this space... when we're not going cross-eyed looking up version 2!
