On my grandfathers death certificate, my Grans name was underlined and a reason given below the entries. I have a certificate for the birth of my other grandad and his mums name is underlined but there is no explanation. Unfortunately it is a photocopy so it is possible the owner of the cert underlined the name. The name is Selina Priestman nee Powell, and she is the lady who seems to have an interchangeable name depending on the census and time of year (!) Could it be that when the person asked for the copy of the certificate, the registrar omitted the explanation? If so does anyone have the phone number for the registrars office that would issue certs for Southwark, Trinity Newington please? Barbara
