What does VRI stand for?

I believe it's Vital Records Index. The ones I know about are LDS cd's. They have published two versions so far

Hi Aileen Its Vital Records Index,stuff like birhs/christening/marriages etc.A really nice lady called Teresa Boyce has been doing look ups for people,Im over the moon with what she found for me Kathleen

Yes I saw her post and that's what prompted me to ask..I'm totally new to this sort of stuff. Do you mean that she goes to the FRC in London to look up the entries there? Thanks Aileen

Hi I brought my VRI 2nd edition cd.rom on Ebay. Which gives a "partial" collection of birth , christening and marriage records from England ,Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Records are dated from 1530-1906. However like ive mentioned its a partial collection. So it does not mean that your relative will be on there. When i did a check for my relatives none of them were on there. I have looked for other people and they have managed to find their relative. However you may find what you are looking for.
