I wonder if anyone with access to these census could do a look up for me on Isabella Newlands and Alexander Taylor Marr seperatly in the 1871 census , would of resided in the Edinburgh area. Then together in the 1891 census, as they married in 1889 Thanks

I tried to find this one for you, but all I could find in the 1891 was an Alexander Marr, 29, Steamship stoker, bn Edinburgh, living in South Shields. But his wife was Ellen,33, born Belmont Lancs. Living with them were Frances E Smith, step daughter, 15, born Wigan, William Smith, Visitor, 53, Steamship steward, born West Hartlepool, and Mario Anderson, Boarder, 35, Stevedor, born Sweden. Could he have remarried? Do you have any approx. years of birth? Jan

possibly he could of remarried, i am not sure...but then I think the marrs family somewhere around that time were something to do with the police force, so my gran tells me anyway.
