It's been mentioned on here that some men were away fighting in the Boer war in 1901. Maybe thats where he is. There is another post on the go somewhere near the top of the board, that gives a website that you check on. Sorry but I can't remember what it is! Rachel

Hi Lynda I have looked but not found. He was born in Lancs, and of course may not have completed his training or he may have been out of the country war/travelling There is a Charles Coventry age 29 on the 1901 but when I looked it is a Charles Frederick and my Charles had no middle name. Thanks for the thought though all appreciated michele in surrey

Michele, Hope this doesn't sound too obvious, but have you looked in the 1901 census to see where He was then? That may give you some more useful info. Lynda

Hi In the 1891 census my great uncle Charles is 19 and a medical student. He is listed as living at home at 11 The Polygon, Barton upon Irlam, Lancs. Can anyone tell me how/where I could look up any further info on him? I think he is mentioned in the London Gazette in the medical corp as a Captain during WW1. all suggestions appreciated. michele in surrey
