Hello Stan Thanks for your suggestion. I have tried the Old Maps site. The map for that area is from 1891 and shows Tapps Cottage, but I couldn't find Tappers. Do you know if there are any earlier maps on-line? Regards Sue

Have you tried old-maps(.)co(.)uk. This should give you sight of a map from the 1850's. The index will give you the town, but you might have to scroll around a bit to look for farm names, etc. Best wishes stan

Can anyone tell me how I might find out if an address in the Knowle, Crediton area shown in 1851 census (Tappers) is the same place as an address shown in 1881 census (Tapps Cottage) I understand there is/was a Tapps Farm in the area. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you Sue (I have also posted this query on Devon Family History Society site)
