Does anyone on this site get a box appearing in the top left hand corner of their screen, telling them that they have ignored an incoming call? I have had this lots of time and it always disconnects me from the internet. He who knows it all (Hubby!) says that it is a form of spam, but I don't know of anyone else who gets it. Maggy

It may seem obvious, but never ever, give out any sensitive information asked for in an email. Genuine organisations, such as banks, building societies, credit card companies etc. will never ask for such information in an email. When paying for anything online, type in the URL yourself, never use a link in an email, you never know where it is going.

I thought that these Virus emails had stopped, as I haven't received any for at least 2 weeks, I had been receiving some every day supposedly from Microsoft.

You know the old maxim If it looks too good to be true, then it probably is. Luckily, I have never got caught out with any of these, but I have seen them a number of times. Blocking sender doesnt always help, they just send the same thing on another email address. I have tried blocking messages with certain words in the subject line. I did this with CASINO, as I was fed up with recieving all these gambling sites. so what do they do? Use an inverted V instead of an A Stay alert and keep safe

I also had one of those too from some e-mail address named Deaconzik@wallet or something. As if someone was going to put money in your bank account to look after, until they comeover to this country, what Planet are they on....... Nobody gives you anything for nothing these days....... And then there is the bod from India, or Nigeria, who wants to put millions of dollars in your bank account Yeah, right. Bin it.

Yes I have had a message like this a couple of weeks ago it said hello Microsoft user, and said it was an Anti-Virus and free to download. As our Norton Anti-Virus was up to renew, my partner thought he would try it, absolute mayhem. I must have deleted over 500 emails, and they just kept on coming in. In the end my PC had to go into the workshop to be cleansed ( as it were ). Everything is fine now, but don't be taken in like we were. If your not sure just BLOCK SENDER and DELETE.............. No problem, just wouldn`t like anyone to get caught out. Be careful if you are registered with any online site that requires a user name and password to get in. You may get emails purporting to be from them, telling you to click here to verify your membership. The link then sends you to a bogus site, where someone nicks your login details.

Carol.... Yes i had one similar to that a while ago... It said it would have an icon next to it of a teddy bear, which it did, so i presumed it was a virus... LUCKILY someone stopped me before i deleated it. But to anyone un sure there is a good site that you can check up on about virus' ive often used it... http://www(.)symantec(.)com/region/reg_eu/

Another to be careful about. Haven`t seen it for a while, and it is not infected. It tells you that you have a virus, and to remove it, find a particular file and delete it. The file mentioned is an important one, deleting it would probably stop your computer working properly.

Hi I have also recieved an e.mail it's from paintshop I tried to open it and incredimail shut down luck for me my anti virus thingy stopped it being opened,I'll have to wait until my son comes to get rid of it cause I am a coplete dino with computers you no the ones with one finger ha ha. Jill

Hello Christine I had this e-mail several weeks ago, supposed to be from Freeserve. Being a bit thick, didn't know what to do, so asked fellow T.B. readers' advice. Everyone said 'Ignore' or 'Delete' etc. Followed this advice and all is well. Thanks to all who replied. Thanks for warning us again, maybe you have saved a 'newie' from fate almost as bad as ... hi everyone, just want to warn about an email, i've had one tonight,it warns that your email address is about to expire, there is a file attached ( INFECTED), luckily, my norton antivirus deleted it.
