Elton: I think you're right, he thinks this is quite a game. I've been looking for James (off and on) for 25 years. Through the internet I've found out more about him during the past year or so than all the other years put together. I shall print out what you've discovered, as I don't have all of that information. I would be thrilled to hear back from you, at your convenience. If I can confirm the connection between my James and the James you found, I will be able to trace the family back to c.1738 as another Mumford family in Ontario has tons of information about "those" Mumfords. It is so exciting to receive a street name!!!!!! It's the first one I have in England. Thank you so much! Good luck with your research! P.S. Thanks for the info re Samuel. Have no clue who he was. Oh well.

Hi Elton!! I am trying to find proof that my James was the son of the James you found. Or find information that he WASN'T the son, so that I may start my search over again. Thanks SO much for the street name. (Didn't have that.) You found what I think is my James parents and siblings. The second group you mentioned could be his uncle's family. I have some of their names from the LDS site, but not all. Thanks so much for your research. I just wish I could find my James. He really, really doesn't want to be found and confirmed. I appreciate your help. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!

Lynda: I'm fairly new to GC and although I've been researching for years, I'm not terribly confortable with the internet. Thanks so much for your suggestion!!! I really appreciate it. Lisa.

Lisa I think you may find someone to help you if you change the title to something like 1851 Essex census, as someone who has that will see it straightaway. I have the London 1851 and it address searched, not name searched, so you will need the address in 1851. Hope this helps. Lynda

I've just found out there is a James Mumford on the 1851 UK Census (his birthdate matches my ancestor's). Would anyone be able to access the census to view the information? Or is there a site that I may try? Details: James Mumford, parents James and Martha Mumford. Born 26-Oct-1826, possibly in Hatfield Broad Oak, Essex. Possible siblings: Matilda Ann, Martha, Mary Ann, Thomas, Sarah, Louisa and William. He married Susanna Vaus in 1857; Susanna lived in Albury, Surrey. Emigrated to Ontario, Canada prior to 1858; occupation there: butcher. Thank you in advance for any information/advice you may be able to offer.
