hi stan thanks for that . i think they must have came back to glasgow by that time, just dont understand why i cant find tham , will just keep looking . you got the location of hutchesontown bang on most of it is demolished now, i actually live in glasgow . cheers jackie.

Hi, Jacqueline, Could I point out that the year of birth on the LDS website for the 1881 census is only accurate for people born January to March? British censuses ask for age last birthday, but I think LDS is based on age at the birthday in the census year (presumably an American practice). So there are three quarters of the previous year to search in each case. David O'Hara was 34 in the 1881 census, so he was born between April 1846 and March 1847, not just 1847 as in LDS. I'm sorry I haven't tried yet to find him in 1891 from that information though. Lucy has done all the searches I could think of. You may like to know that Hutchesontown is in Glasgow, just south of Gorbals to the south of the river Clyde. Best wishes Stan

hi emma, thanks for looking i cant find them either i have checked the scottish census incase they may have came back, but nothing , . i think they were all born in scotland . the children definetly were a place called hutchesontown . could be possible that the father was irish , would that help any. hope i am not asking to much regards jackie.

Hi Jacqueline, No luck I'm afraid. There are two O'Hara families in Accrington both heads are James O'Hara and the wives and childrens' names don't match either. I searched all Davids born in Scotland living in Lancashire, all Helens born in Scotland living in Lancashire, all Helens born in Scotland aged 15, 16, 17 in England and still nothing. Do you know whereabouts in Scotland they were from? Sometimes if you search for only the town and not the word "Scotland" on the census schedule you get different results. Emma.

i am looking for my greatgran and her family i found them on the 1881 census living in accrington lancashire, could someone find them in the 1891 . there names were david o hara born 1847, mary o hara born 1851, children mary born 1872, helen born1875 . they were all born in scotland, any help appreciated
