I have a problem, I have downloaded the scans and the winbmd but how on earth do I download the irfanview and when I have, how does it work, I have been here for ages trying to work it out, think I must be thick. Any help much appreciated Gen

I am a new transcriber, but not sure what an irfanview is. I spent ages puzzling over how to do my heading, and found that WinBMD did it all automatically for me!!. Just found out by accident last night that pressing the tab bar automatically repeated the last name without me having to type it. It's a very easy program to use

Hi Valerie, Maybe I have downloaded the scans incorrectly because all I get is numbers and dates, nothing that makes any sense, do you have an image convertor already installed. Gen

Hi - I transcibe and am not sure what you mean either? I found it a bit muddly - worried about it for a bit and then also realised that it all works itself! If you can't sort it out it may be that you should contact your coordinator who should be able to help you with the technical bits. Did you get a help file with it? Good luck Sylvie

I didn't get anything but I do understand how to put the information into winbmd I just don't undertand how to bring the images I am supposed to be transcribing up on the screen. Gen

I use paint shop pro, as I need to magnify the image for my old eyes.
