Can anyone give any suggestions please? I have found out that my gr gr grandfather was William Humphries from my gr grandfathers birth cert. But....here comes my problem, On the 1901 census his name was spelt Humphries and says he was born in studley and on the 1881 census his name was spelt Humphrys and was born in Bewdley.I can`t find his birth on the 1837 site in either places. So how do i get a birth cert. if i can`t be sure where he was originaly from. On both censuses he was living in Upton st. Leonards in Gloucester which is where my gr grandfather was born. If anyone could give a few suggestions that would be great. Thanks, Julie

I had a look - the only William Humphreys on the 1891 census in Upton is from....Warwickshire - no town name!! Emma.

hi, the trouble i`m having is that each census says something differnt, name spelling and where born. But i deffinatly know he married in Upton.st. Leonards in Gloucester. I must also add that i`m now living in Austria so i havn`t the chance to go to the record offices and look myself. Lucy would you be so kind and let me have the full details of the William Humphreys you found on the 1891 census. If you have time. Thanks. Thank you too all, Julie

Julie, If you email me I'll send you a copy of the schedule. There's also a John Humphreys from Warwickshire and his family who may be relations on the same schedule. Emma.

Hi Ruth, sorry i don`t know if he had a middle name. That would make things a bit easier. Hi Max, this might sound like a daft question but FRC thread ? Julie

If you could tell us the ages on the 1881 and 1901, that would help to narrow down the search on the 1891. Jan.
