Hi Thanks for your help. Could you give me the address of the post codes book? I have searched the 2002 electoral roll at www.192.com for the street and also entered Lightpill and looked for a house called Wellcroft. Is it possible to search old electoral rolls - like 1960 or similar where the postcode might exist and also where the house might still exist before it was renamed/demolished?

If it turned out as Andrew suggests, you might find it in the postcodes book, which is accessible online. Alternatively, the electoral register might be a possible source to check if the address exists. Stan

I had a similar problem when trying to find my Great Grandads house in Hunstanton earlier this year. The Wellcroft Terrace you are looking for could still be around, in that it could be the actual name of the house or row of houses and not the name of the street, so that it wouldnt show up on any maps.

A Nicholls lived there in 1934 - just couldnt find were the street was. Like Crista said - must have been 'demolished'

Richard, Lightpill is next to Stroud. Looks like Wellcroft Terrace doesn't exist today. Crista
