Thanks Tony, i will forward that on to them, as you can see by my reply to Tracey there is an Edward and Eliza showing on the 1881, with several children, 1 called Alice. The birth date for Edward is not quite right, but thats not new for the 1881, so i am trying to help a contact in USA confirm it, or otherwise, as they are a descendant of Alice and they are in touch with 2 other people who are linked to her....its a small world sometimes, isnt it. Regards Yvette

Hi Tracey Thanks for looking, as you can see these Elliff/Streeters are causing concern even in the USA,lol. Final thing i need to confirm/deny is whether they are the Edward and Eliza Elliff on the 1881 census showing a daughter Alice and then i have even more family in America and i can move on to a different branch of my tree.......oh boy will i need help with that one........lol!!! Regards Yvette

Hi Yvette, the VRI 2nd edition entry for marriages has the following for your Edwards. Edward Elliff 22 to Eliza Streeter 21 on 25-12-1872 at Croydon,Surrey,England. Husbands father John Elliff, wifes father William Streeter. FHL film dates 1866-1875. Edward Elliff 34 to Emily Raison Granger 27, 15-7-1849 at Croydon,Surrey,England. Husbands father Edward Elliff. FHL film dates 1847-1860. This is all the info for the entry,no numbers for films, just dates. Regards Tony.

Hi again Yvette! I've just had a quick look at the VRI and it doesn't show any births for Edward and Eliza and deaths are not on there anyway. Sorry. Tracey

Tony, I meant to ask if the VRI shows any children for Edward and Eliza Elliff, or any death records for them? Thanks for your help. Yvette

Tony Hi, hope you are well and your tree is growing, lol Thanks for that, it may well be the answer i needed, could you possibly re-post it all for me exactly as it is on the VRI with any reference numbers as the American connections, (i have two possibles) want 'proof' of anything i can find on any Edward Elliffs, but in particular my two in this thread. It seems they have done lots of research on their families where they (possibly) meet mine and want to keep everything as formal as possible. Thanks again Regards Yvette

Can anyone please help me with a search through the 1861 cesus for Surrey. I have tried the local registry office but they couldnt help with out me giving them deatils i dont have! I have 2 Edward Elliffs married to Elizas, only one will be mine and i need to find out which one by finding the names of Edwards parents. I dont really want to order both certificates as my husband is starting to query the amount i am ordering. I was hoping if i could find details of both of them in the 1861 it would give me the details of parents and siblings and that would answer my query. One was born in March quarter 1850 and the other in March quarter 1853. I would be really grateful to sort this out as i have possible relatives in America also waiting on the solving of this . Thankyou. Yvette
