Would like to know where Martin & Emily Bagshaw and two daughters (one my Gt. Grandmother Margaret) & Elizabeth, were living in 1861. Martin & Emily married in Manchester in 1847 but I believe they then moved to Stockport. Emily died in 1869 aged only 39 years. Most grateful for any help, thankyou.

The 1861 Lancs census is not surname indexed....you need an address pr at least a street name to have any hope of a lookup. Sue

apoligies Christine....I just saw Manchester and thought Lancs. You may be luckier with the Cheshire 1861 as it was certainly not as densely populated as Lancashire. How I wish my Lancs was surname indexed! good luck Sue
