I am trying to find Harry Turner born some time between 1895 & 1905, His mothers name was Maud & and his father was Stephen. I am eager to find this rellie because he died in an accident in 1947 - 1948, he was a steeplejack and while working for the council at the gas works in Birmingham he was killed, this is a mystery which i want information on.

Have you tried contacting Birmingham City Council to ask if they have kept any employee records? Also email Birmingham City Archives, you'll find their details by looking at the city library website. George

Hi george, I think if i contacted the council direct nothing would come of it as it is impossible trying to sort out Council Tax enquires. I have a clipping from a newspaper, but the problem is that i have inheirted this clipping so i dont know what paper it has come from, the description is very basic and doesnt ring true to me.

George Have sent an email on the off chance to the archives, do they normally respond or try to assist ??

They do usually respond, if they have anything. Let me know and when I next get there I'll do a lookup for you. George

just recieved a reply for the Archives and unfortunatly the only inquest available are over 75 years old, where do i go from here, ????

There is a chance he wrote a will. The archives hold the national will index. Also if you have his death cert then that will give his address so you could access the electoral registers. George

Hello george I dont think he would have been rich enough to have a will, but the electrol role is genuis, i didnt think of that, I have the address on the cutting that i have got and i know also that the road still exists. Thank U
