Actually, just been thinking about this. Could the John William b. 1876, Bridlington be the same one as b.1877 Argham. Found the 1876 one on Freebmd Birth Sept quarter 1876 and the 1877 one on Family search is just a guesstimate from the 1881 census. He could have been 5 later in the year thus fitting in with the birth year of 1876. Bridlington is quite close to Argham/Grindale and could have been the registration district. What do you think? Any comments greatfully recieved. Jeanette

Sandra and Rosemary Sorry I haven't replied sooner but I have to let my teenage daughter take a turn on the computer every now and again! Thankyou so much for this information. So Argam does exist - had seen an entry for Grindale on the 1901 census but didn't connect the 2. I was aware of the birth in Bridlington and he was my 2nd choice! The 14 year old in Thwing is a new one on me so there's food for thought. Problem I'm having is that there are quite a few John/John William Greenleys in Yorkshire let alone my tree (my dad, his dad, his dad and now possibly his dad!). Thanks once agian for the info Jeanette

I have found this on the 1881 census and would like to see where they are 10 years later. John Greenley, age 29, b. North Burton, York, Ag Labourer Mary Greenley, age 31, b. Langtoft, York Harriet Sanderson, Daur, age 7, b. Langtoft, York John Wm Greenley, Son, age 4, b. Argham, York Joseph Greenley, Son, age 2, b. Argham, York Sarah A Bean, Visitor, age 23, b. Langtoft, York Jane Hh Bean, Visitor, age 3, b. Langtoft, York Margaret Bean, Visitor, age 1, b. Langtoft, York Dwelling: Finley Hill Census Place: Argam (spelled differently) York, England Argam/Argham doesn't seem to have existed so anything vaguely ressembling this will do. I think John Wm Greenley may be my g grandfather. Thanking you in advance Jeanette
