If he were alive, he would be 96. Not impossible, but the thought obviously tickled your mother.

Whilst questioning my Mother I had to ask the question about her Father, from what i gathered they did not get on, she doesnt even know when he died, I said are you sure he is dead, she found it hillarious and we just both started laughing, so i persume he is dead as he was born in 1907. Gave us a good laugh though.

This is from my mother, when I asked her if she could remember when her maternal grandfather died. "I can`t remember the date, but it was during the war, and I was 17, so work it out. He refused to get up and go to the air raid shelter, saying that if he was going to go, he would go in his own bed." I have now found his death entry on the index.
