Hmm!! That's why I asked who the Head of the family was, because I was expecting to find Maria living with her brother Frederick Frasi, as she was in the 1881 Census. It was the same address and Harriett Seabrook was the servant then too! Perhaps Fred was hiding behind the sofa?! I wonder if he was away at the time, or perhaps staying with wrongly indexed relatives!? Incidentally, on the 1881 census, the surname was transcribed as 'Trasi' With regards to Horace C, you've solved a puzzle for me, as I can now relate him to a Horace Charles who was originally an 'ornamental metal designer'. He obviously had a change of career. (There were a couple of Horaces, and with all the Henrys in the family, it doesn't help when they put their names down on the censuses as H. Frasi!) Thanks for all your trouble - you've helped me a lot. Janet

I deleted the list from the Index because it was rather long, but can reinstate it if you need it. 27 St. Julians Road, Willesden Ref: RG12/1045,64,42 George Frasi 48 Accountant London Mary C 28 Surrey, Croydon --------- 16 Woodsome Road, St. Pancras, Kentish Town RG12/138,118,10 Horace C 47 Architectural Asstn. Middx Holloway Minnie 23 Cambs Hanxton Dorothy 1 mnth Middx St. Pancras ----------- Maria is a bit strange. She is shown as living at 10 Langton Terrace, Woolland Road, Greenwich East. The household comprised: RG12/512,131,21 Maria Frasi Single 70 St. Lukes Harriet Seabrook Servant 47 Gen. Dom. Clerkenwell Esther Seabrook " 40 " " " Separate household at no. 9: August W. Romboy 54 Cabinet Maker Prussia (Brit.Cit) Mary 47 Wilts Highworth August F 24 Cycle Maker Camberwell Alice M. 16 Deptford Cecil W. 14 Deptford I can't understand why Maria isn't shown as Head, as it was totally separate. At no. 11 is the Watkins family, he's a baker. If you want his details just shout. Jan.

Thanks Jan Yes - that's them! Garnet is the correct name for my grandfather's brother - he went through life known as 'Guy' apparently! You've also come up with the name of a couple of other siblings of my grandfather who obviously didn't make it. We knew there were several childhood deaths, and have found deaths registered but could not link them to their parents. Now we can! Thank you very much! I wonder how many other Frasi's have been wrongly indexed? There should be another Henry, and possibly even a William, but I'll have to do a bit of lateral thinking about that one! Thanks for your time and trouble - very much appreciated. Janet

Indexed as FRASE, but the writing is quite clearly FRASI Block N Roscoe Street, Whitecross Street, St. Lukes London Alfred Frasi 43 Stick Mounter Hoxton Georgina 42 Westminster Henry 21 Stick Mounter Islington Amy 18 Warehouse Assistant " Alfred 15 Warehouse Assistant Hoxton Edgar 14 Learner to Stick Mounting Finsbury Amelia 11 St. Luke Eveline 8 Garnet 4 (son) Florence 3 Marian 10 months Ref: RG12/233, 20, 34 I checked with the index and they had transcribed the boy's name as Garnet too. Jan By a process of elimination, I think I may have found my grandfather's family under the name of FRASE. There is only one entry on the 1891 census for Alfred, Georgina and Henry Frase (Alfred and Georgina are my great-grandparents) Would you give this a try for me, please? Janet

Thanks Jan - very quick! Very surprised, as these weren't the ones I was expecting. There are a number of people missing, including my grandfather and his family! I suspect their name must have been spelt wrongly - happens all the time! I'll have to have a re-think. The names you've come up with are all family members, but I'm having difficulty in linking them. There appears to be 3 families, and if possible, it would help me if you could determine the occupations of:- Horace C Frasi George Frasi (They both married women much younger than themselves, I see) and I see that Maria Frasi is described as 'sister'. I think I know who she is, but could you obtain the name of the Head of the household for me? Thanks ever so much for your help Jan - you are kind ... Janet

My maiden name FRASI is quite rare, even in Italy, it would seem. In our research, we have now got back to 1820, and looking at Ancestry, I see that there are 7 matches in the Pallots Marriage Index 1780-1837; 6 matches in the 1891 census and 1 match in the England (General) Parish and Probate Records. It hardly seems worth taking out a subscription just to extract this information, as it may be information I already have, and I can't see any mention of a free trial at the moment. Can anyone help me? I would be very grateful! Janet
