PS: Mary Holder - we do not show your order in our order system, so you probably caught us unready! Please check back in mid-Oct and place your order again. Or contact me at the email address on the site if your credit card is somehow charged.

Oh, you genealogists are so clever! I'm Holly Cochran, the author of the Durham Records Online site, and I thank you for your interest and for the orders that managed to sneak through - thank goodness the order system was working! But the truth is, the site is still undergoing final tweaking, so I'm going to have to "close the back door" for now - I wouldn't want anything to go wrong while you're ordering and I'm updating! Please check back in about 2 weeks - the actual URL will be www.durhamrecordsonline.com with no other filename needed after it. There will be far more data then too - about a million names, I believe! --Holly

Been at work all day but looked here tonight. I went through the view baskedt last night and found at the top of page new search which led me to search page. Hope this turns out as good as it seems. I have been looking for this relation for ages and found him first time here. But it may turn out expensive Best of Luck Mary

Hi I have had a look at the site today and got access to all the info and searches. Found lots of people with the surname I am researching, just not the people I am looking for. Did join the mailing list so will be getting notification of the updates when they happen. It looks like its going to be a great site when fully up and running. Karen Hindmarch

This is going to sound really crazy but last night I ordered some record from Durham records online and they were emailed straight away. This morning I got an email from Holly Cochran at Durham records online asking me how I did it because the website is still undergoing tests and the address has not been made public yet. Maybe my computer has special powers! lol Michelle

If you go onto the website and click on 'Join Mailing list' on the left hand side of the page. The next page will have a new menu down the left, the top one is Home, click on this and at the botton of this page is the search. There is probably an easier way but thats how I found it. Hope this helps Michelle

Don't know how you managed to order anything Mary. I've just looked at it and it says the site is still under construction and searches are not available yet. Pity as half my family come from Durham and in fact I was born in that area - God's Country. I shall look forward to making good use of it.
