You could get Arthurs birth certificate and see if parents names match

For your local LDS, look in the phone book. It will be listed under Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. If the census you require is available anywhere, they will order it for you. They will make a charge, but only to cover the postage. I am in Plymouth, and ordered a Somerset film, and they charged me £2.60.

ive just realised something- my gg grandfather could still be related to them- he wasn't born in 1851 !! is there a site that has 1861 cencus returns?? i really want to find out if Tom and Mary are his parents!! Then i'll work on Rose and her husband!! I live in West Yorkshire, so i'll have to find out if there is a LDS centre near me. Will they be able to help me with '61 and '71 census returns??

I have looked on the IGI, but nothing there. If there is an LDS centre near you, they can get the film for you.

Ian, what I have given you is all one family. Thomas and Mary are married Emma, Eliza and John are their children Rose is Mary`s mother who is listed as widowed, so you will need an earlier census to find her husband. Next, you need a birth record for Mary. As she was born in Norfolk, you will need the Norfolk parish records. For more information on this, go to the Norfolk page on genuki

oh, right, thanks. How can i find out if mary's mother of father were charles' mother or father? doesn't it seem rather a coincidence that a group of people of similar ages all born in the same palce, then moved to nottingham?? i WANT them to be related !!

She is Mary`s mother, now you know her name before marriage.

A line of my ancestors seem to come from Norfolk, and so if anyone would be ale to do a search for me on anything before 1881, i would be truly grateful!! Mary Enderby, bn. 1822, Downham (dont know her name before marriage) Married Thomas Enderby br 1817(a search for the year of their marriage would be great!) possible children: Arthur Enderby bn. 1852, Downham George bn. 1845, Downham Emma bn. 1844, Downham Eliza, bn 1847, Downham Charles (my gg grandfather) bn. 1854, Downham John bn. 1849, Downham Charles was married in Nottingham, and nearly all of the people above lived in Notingham at some time, i would love to know when they moved to Nottingham and if any of these are related! I know its a lot to ask, but many thanks in advance if anyon is able to help!! Nicola
