Thanks Patricia, I have the marriage cert to Tilly Brown, but I am trying to find his birth certificate to enable me to find out his mother, I think the mother is Mary born in Acklam but I do not know her maiden name. I know where his parents are in 1881 when he was a servant, I just would like to find his birth.. Thanks again for your help Liz
