Are you sure that the records are lodged with a solicitor and it is not a case of a solicitor's historic records being lodged in the county record office? Martin

I was lucky that the records I found although from a Solicitor were deposited at Worcester County Hall. All I had to do was fill in a readers ticket (library ticket) with proof of ID. I completed a request form for the item (I took a print off the a2a with me) and the documents were handed to me within minutes (and they were wonderful) I hope that it is as easy for you. They should be able to give you access info over the phone. If you cant find the no of the Solicitor why dont you post it on this board? I am sure that loads of readers will check it for you. Helena

Any idea what part of the country? You have the name of the Solicitor, maybe they are in the phone book for the area. Where did you get the reference number from?

Once you have found a document you require how do you go about finding it to get a copy. I have the document ref number and the name of the Solicitor where i think it is held but i don't know how to get the address to write to???? The other one is held in Somerset Archives so i suppose i have to talk to them???? Jane
