Does anyone have access to any of the above? The place I am looking for seems to be on the border of the two counties. Easton on the Hill, Northants or Stamford Baron St Martin, Northants. They are both in Stamford registration district which is Lincs. I am looking for the Newey family. Thomas Newey and wife Ann and family. Thomas may have died by 1851. Margaret

Margaret Well, no-one else seems to be able to help you, so I would suggest that you contact the Northamptonshire Association for Local History www(.)northants-history(.)org(.)uk and ask for their advice. Hope this helps Janet

I have been looking in the same area. As far as Im aware the 1841 1851 census is not available yet and Stamford would come under Northants not Lincs. The only census available at present is 1891. Regards Julie

Julie I suppose all of the census are available at the county record office on microfiche. I know they aren't online at the moment. I was just trying to avoid a trip to Northampton. I may ask if they do searches for a fee. Thanks for the replies Margaret

Northants record office will sell parish registers on microfiche so it may be worth contacting them to see if they do the census as well. Their e-mail address is archivist at northamptonshire(.)gov(.)uk You'll need to change the at to the sign and remove the spaces and take out the brackets around the dots ... I wish GC would sort this out. Any problems - e-mail me and I'll forward you the link

Lesley Have already contacted Northants Record office about parish registers on microfiche as I have my own fiche reader. Kaz has kindly offered to look at the census for me. Am waiting for a price for fiche from record office. Margaret
