Hi Emma, Thank you so much for your work and prompt reply re John Oakes and Alice/Ruth Unsworth for me. I am a novice to the family tree game and am trying to find family in the Wigan area and doing it from Australia. So once again thank you very much. Hi June, The full details for John Oakes are: RG12/3020, folio 106, 41, St Helens, Windle, Lancashire Double Locks (I think on Pocketnook Street) John Oakes, head, mar, 48, lock keeper canal, Ashton in Makerfield Mary Oakes, wife, mar, 43, St. Helens Florence Ann Oakes, daur, 8, scholar, St. Helens Eveline Mary Oakes, daur, 4, St. Helens John Hy Oakes, son, 4, St. Helens Frederick Ernest Oakes, son, 3, St. Helens Believe it or not there are over 1000 Alice Unsworths, the only two that are approximately the right age are in Bolton. Do you have any other family member names to help find her. Emma.

Thank you Emma for finding me the information re Oakes and Unsworth. Would you be kind enough to look at the address for John Henry in the 1891 Cencus. For Ruth could you please look at maybe Alice Unsworth for me as I think she may have been known by this christian name but not shure. Many many thanks. xxxxx kind regards June

Hi June, Without fiddling around with the names there is only one John Henry Oakes in the Wigan area however he's aged 4, Father John a lock keeper Mother Mary and siblings Florence, Eveline and Frederick. There are other John Oakes in 1. Lees - Father John 2. Atherton - page illegible 3. Crompton - Father William 4. Ditton - Father John 5. Manchester - Mother Hannah 6. Wavertree - Father John Let me know if you want details of any or full details of the family in Wigan. The only Ruth Unsworth I could find was: RG12/3073, Folio 62, Page 9 Penketh Lancashire 32 Bank Gardens William Ainsworth, head, mar, 57, tannery labourer, Cheshire Frodsham Elizabeth Ainsworth, wife, mar, 58, Lancashire Penketh Annie Ainsworth, daur, sing, 19, Penketh Martha Ainsworth, daur, 15, Penketh Ruth Unsworth, g/daur, 5, Penketh If you don't think this is your Ruth let me know and I'll have a go at playing around with the name etc. Emma.
