Carol, I assume Valerie got the birth info. from the 1901 census. Kennington is in the Lambeth district. Crista

Should that be Kensington? There is no registration district called Kennington. I just did a search for all Lillians in 1898 and there are hundreds.

My husbands grandmother is Lillian Robinson (born 1898/99 Kennington) her parents are George Robinson (born 1868/69 Peckham) and Elizabeth (born 1874/75 Brixton). They are on the 1901 census and were living in Westham, Essex. but I cannot find their marriage or Lillian's birth certificate. I think maybe lillian's might be in her mothers maiden name, but I do not know what that is until I can find the marriage certificate. Can anyone tell me how I could locate this information? I have written to the ONS but they could not find anything. Thanks Valerie
