parish register - Bishops Transcripts

As I understand it: The parish register is the original document. The Bishop's Transcripts is a copy sent to the diocese for filing. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

That's as I understand it as well. The nice thing sometimes is that the BT's have been typed out by FHS (sometimes the PR's). Worth a look anyway.
