Looks like being a useful site, Andy, thanks. What part of Yorkshire are you from? Maggy, West Yorkshire

Saltburn on the north east coast, about 20 miles north of Whitby. Technically not Yorkshire any longer, but it's easier than saying you're from the Borough of Redcar and Cleveland!

I bet lots of people still consider they live in Yorkshire though?

I think that those who are old enough to remember when this area was the North Riding of Yorkshire, generally still think of it as Yorkshire. Changing it to Cleveland in the 1970s was bad enough but they've messed about with it so much that we're no longer in a county, instead we're in a borough! I'm actually not old enough to remember it as being part of Yorkshire, however when people ask where Saltburn is, it's easier to just say, oh, North Yorkshire. :-)
