I have tried to look up this address in the 1901 Census, 21 Beaumont Rd Plaistow West Ham. Every number but 21 listed looked at alternative Numbers with no luck. This is where my Dad was born and would like to know the family who was there. Maybe they were there in 1891. Many thanks, Peter.

Hi Peter, Unforunately it's not possible to search 1891 by address, only by name or place. If you post details of the family's names and where born to narrow it down a bit I'll be happy to have a look for you. Debbie

Hello Debbie, thanks for prompt reply, the surname is Matthews 21 Beaumont Rd Plaistow West Ham. His mother Elizabeth resided at another address, but he was actually born at this one, I am very curious why he was born at this address, and who the the occupants were, another surname is Dredger his mothers maiden name. Thanks for your assistance, Peter. Sorry Debbie, Edward Sidney Matthews, Elizabeth Matthews, Elizabeth Dredger, Frederick Dredger, George Dredger. Unusual name Dredger, none on this site. Cheers Peter.

Hello Debbie, thank you kindly for the info on Dredger, yes it all sounds correct, brilliant. With regards to Matthews, my dad was Edward Sidney but was not born until 1903, but his dad was also Edward Sidney and his dad was a Job Matthews, West Ham area. Thanks a lot Debbie, Peter.

Hi Peter, Still struggling with edward & job matthews. Was Edward def born in Essex? The only one not a small child (3yrs) is 44 which would make him nearly 60 when your dad was born. No Jobs' in Essex. Roughly how old would Edward be in 1891? Help! Debbie

Hi Debbie, Sorry about that Edward Sidney Matthews born 1882, would have been 9 yrs old. Job Matthews his dad have not got a clue of his age, and also may posibly be a different location, sorry. Peter.

Hi Peter, Really sorry, can't find a match. There are only 11 Job Matthews' in the census, none, I'm afraid, with an 8/9 year old Edward. Checked the IGI as well and the 1881 hoping to pinpoint Job, but couldn't see anything obvious. Sorry Debbie

Peter, Just a thought, do you know the name of Job's wife? Is it possible Job died before 1891? Would be looking for a female head of family then! Debbie

Hi Debbie, Thanks for all of your trouble, do not know the wifes name, think it best to hold fire for a while, will see what comes up in the future. Thank you for your time, Peter.
