Jacqui I'm s-o-o pleased you have been successful! I'm glad I brought this site to the forefront again now - it was well worth it. But isn't it lovely when people reply to you so quickly? Good luck! Janet

Hiya Janet - just to let you know that last night I had two e-mails from distant rellie in Canada with lots of info. on my family tree here in UK. Well worth ploughing through the slightly chaotic site - I would recommend it - there is a list of Genealogy Clubs for the UK as well as all over the world - well worth a look at folks. Thanks again Janet. Jacqui

This is in danger of getting lost, and I just want to ensure that the evening shift see it. Janet

What great news Jacqui - I'm really pleased for you! Yes, I know what you mean about it being confusing, but if you keep playing about with it, you'll soon get the hang of it. I would never have found descendants of my grandfather's sister if I hadn't put my tree on the site. Not only that, but they also have contacts with descendants from one of my grandfather's brothers, now living in the USA! By comparing our research, we have been able to fill in gaps on each other's family trees, and have been swapping old family photographs too. When I first discovered the site, thanks to a tip from someone on genesconnected, it was very US orientated, but more UK researchers have been adding their trees. The more of us who contribute to gencircles, the more likely we are to find lost rellies! Best of all - IT'S FREE!! Good luck in your research Janet

Just tried the site - first shot found a descendant of some of my long lost rellies - I did find the site confusing though, but will give it some longer thought later in the day - quite excited really - thanks for the tip. Jacqui

As there are so many new people on this site, I think it's worth mentioning, once more, the website www(.)gencircles(.)com. As a result of putting my tree on this site in May, I was contacted by a great-granddaughter of my grandfather's sister. We are now in regular contact. It is perfectly safe to upload your gedcom file to this site, as details of living people are withheld automatically. It also has a Smartmatch facility, where it automatically matches individuals from your tree to individuals on any other trees on the database, where the details would appear to be the same. You can leave messages on the site, or search the site for surnames. It's certainly worth a try! Janet
