Today I recieved my phone bill and there were added charges for premium rate phone numbers I had not called(over £20). I queried these and was told that they had been dialled from the internet by my computer. I have upto date virus software and a firewall but the program to dail was downloaded from a site I visited through a midi sound file.I stress that I didnt download anything from the site only visited I have now downloaded a patch from the microsoft tech site and placed a ban on premium numbers being dialled from my phone.I consider myself pretty internet savvy but this was a new one on me.

Thanks for the warning Jacky. I remember reading, very recently, that Microsoft NEVER e-mail their customers in this way. Janet

I have just received an email supposedly from Microsoft saying: Dear friend , use this Internet Explorer patch now! There are dangerous virus in the Internet now! More than 500.000 already infected! There was an attachment. I have deleted mail and attachment. I know that wehn Microsoft contact me they do so in a different manner. Jacky
