Thanks George,but not the same Frederick Roles-elusive he may be but i am sure he will turn up eventually even though i cannot verify his birth date or trace him at all between 1898 and 1909.And they say that it is only the living you have to worry about!!!!

Unfortunately the family does not seem to be on the 1881or 1891 census hence my lack of bright ideas!!

Hi Sinead Welcome.. Try checking the census returns,,it may confirm the fathers name before you get the certificate,The other alternative s parish records for the baptism Happy hunting.!!

hello all, new member alert! any idea how i can get a fathers name ?i have a frederick roles born in 1877 in edmonton and need to get his fathers name to verify if he is the right one.so far all avenues seem to be a dead end and i dont particularly want to send to the gro for the certificate if he is the wrong man!
