Copying data from another Tree

It seems a shame that when you get access to someone else’s tree that there is no easy way of copying data across to your own tree. Or is there? I sent an email to tech support but got the standard response rather than something useful.

you can 'link the trees', that way you can both view easily, Steph

Hi Steph, Thanks for the response. What I also find a little challenging is that you can find the multiple versions of the same person on the genes connected web site. How far back have you managed with your tree ?

Just a thought, and its been raised before but, its always polite to get permission from the 'treeholder' before you start copying someones hard work.

I totally agree Clare. I see people adding info on my family in their tree often and the info isn't even correct!!! Not being a full member I cannot contact these people to set things right but it seems they are getting the info from the same place as 2 members of my family always have their name spelt wrong!!....Oh Well.......
