On the 1901 census I found an odd occupation that I wondered if anyone new what it was. An Ann Keen aged 67 has an occupation listed as "living on walesness growing"!

Marcelo I'm still thinking about this one! I'll let you know if I come up with anything. I would imagine it is a case of very inaccurate transcribing. A bit of lateral thinking needed ........ Janet

I've written this amusing occupation down in the same sort of handwriting that would have been used, and I wonder if the 'walesness' part could have actually been 'widows'. Still thinking about the 'growing' bit! Janet

I have not looked at the original census document only at the transcription you can read before you have to pay. I don't think that this is a relation but I was just intrigued.
