Ive also had trouble with freebmd. Sometimes i get as far as search, then it all goes wrong. However i do know there are busy times. Which makes it harder to do research. Just wondering did you go to Westlands high in Sittingbourne? sarah

I live in a medium sized town I suppose - Sittingbourne in Kent if you know of it.

You mean told the boys they're related to teacher? I sure have - my little one (12) was delighted and it was him that broke the happy(!) news. I printed a copy of that bit of my tree for him and they were chatting about it saying "that one's my dad and he's my uncle" and so on. I have to say if I had to be related to one of my teachers it couldn't have been a nicer one. That's why I chose him to teach my boys. Incidentally he taught my husband too!

Sue, Have you told them theyre related??? Isnt it strange the things you manage to find out? Demelza

This one's pretty cool - he's got the dubious pleasure of teaching both my boys now too! Sue

Demelza Been doing this nearly a year now. Yes I go back a generation then find all the kids they had and then work forward again! Then I go back with the families of the people the kids married. It's strange but I've got more detail on my family from the 1800's than those still around, and most of us still live within a 30 mile radius! I did find out that my old trombone teacher is my 3rd cousin once removed - we were both v surprised! Sue

Susan, How long have you been going at it??..im up to about 200 i think. A quick question for you....do you include say for example your gt grandads brothers kids and then theyre kids in it....im not sure whether to delve in and do it that way....think i might be biting off more than i can chew for the moment!!! Demelza, Thanks for the thought, very kind, but I usually go on and blitz whole families at a time! Would take too long just to tell you which people need looking up. Am up to nearly 2500 in my tree now! Just tried to get on again and still can't. Grr! Sue

Anyone know what's up with FreeBMD? I can't get on again and it's been happening on and off since the last update. It's driving me mad to keep finding it down when I get a bit of spare time to look things up! Sue
