Canadian site ~ maybe useful

This is the national archives of Canada site, and yes it is very good, but a word of warning....the 1871 census is for Ontario only and the county boundaries changed many times during this part of the 19th century,as Canada grew. Also the online version of the census does not show all those who were enumerated, ie if John and Jane Jones were living with their family of 6 children and a lodger Tom Brown, only John Jones and Tom Brown will come up on any search. To see the full entry you would need to look at the microfiche. Patsy Calgary, Canada

I have seen lots of messages asking for canadian sites, have come across this one, which has census's for different provinces, you may have to purchase on microfilm. Hope it helps someone. www(.)archives(.)ca
