Thanks Janet, In the 1881 census, I have him as living as a lodger in Longdon Staffs with the Linney household. He is listed as a coalminer which my Dad confirmed as being his occupation. Also his future wife Martha Jane Hitchens came from Gentleshaw Longdon so I assume that's how they met. Will check out your George though, Thanks, Gillian.

Gillian There's a George Hunt born 1865 in Bladon on the 1881 census, living with his sister and widowed father. Don't suppose this could possibly be your George? Janet

Hello, Could someone please look up my great grandad, George HUNT, born Bladon Oxford 1861. I am trying to find out who his parents are. I've had no luck with familysearch & freecen. Thanks in advance, Gillian
