you were right gwynne, my nan did lie about her age,she even altered my grandads death certificate, which would have made her 4 years older than him instead of 1 year older as everybody thought. |

Hi, The information is given by the person registering the death and if that person is mistaken or has been misinformed then wrong information will be registered. If the deceased married someone younger she may have lied about her age and kept up the lie. Or she may have lied at her marriage and claimed to have been over 21 and carried on this lie. Gwynne |

can anyone tell me just how accurate the information is on a death certificate, my grandmother florence maude reece, died in 1973, and on her death cert it states her date of birth as being 26 aug 1909 in lambeth, i have searched several times and cannot find any trace, anyone have any ideas please. |
