Thank you for the advice. There are many Mary Ann Bryant's in the period. The period I am looking at is wider than I would have liked because of varying ages on the 1881 and 1891 census, makingg her born in 1839 or 1843 (or anything between) The most likely is one born in St Pancras. According to the census she was born in St Martins, Westminster. Is this likely to be the same one? Another possibility is one from Newington, but I think that is slightly further from Westminster. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Hi Marcello, I don't, alas, have acces to the 1861 census, but the only thing I can suggest is that you take an educated guess at her/his birthdate, and trawl through 1837 Online. It is a pay per view site - but is reputedly complete (where the dickens IS my ggfather then), but may just solve your problem as to when she was born. At least it wasn't before registration! Is there anybody able to help please? I think that it is the key to unravelling the next generation back. I could very much do with Mary Ann Bryant's age. Bryant is a more common name than I had imagined, so I am hoping to able to use this to pin down the right one. If it can also help me find more information on the parents of Mary Ann and Richard Clark that would be a bonus.

Is there a kind person who could help me with an 1861 look up. I am stuggling with conflicting information. Richard Clark married Mary Ann Bryant in Aug 1860. I believe that they lived around the Westminster area. He was an Engineer born in Lambeth. Their marriage certificate doesn't give an age for them but states that she was a minor. The 1881 and 1891 census documents give conflicting ages for them. At the date of marriage in 1860 his address was 10 Broad St (father - William a baker) and her address was 8 Berwick Street (father - George Bryant a shoemaker). If somebody could also check those addresses to see if their parents still lived there i would appreciate it.
