I have recently spoken to my Gran about my family tree and I got her talking about all the people she can remember. There were a couple of names that cropped up that were new to me, so I quizzed my Gran and she explained. "Sarellen" / "Surellen" - not sure of the spelling - was actually Sarah Ellen. My Gran always thought they were calling her Sir Ellen as she was a bit of a bad tempered sod, apparently. Then there was "Saran" /"Suran" - again not sure of the spelling - which was Sarah Ann. As you may have guessed, the two were in the same family so it may just have been a family thing but my Gran says everyone that knew them, called them Suran and Surellen so.... it may be worth knowing!
